The History of Tom Wallace Cycles
Tom Wallace Cycles was established in 1927 in the garage of Tom Wallace’s home in Lowerson Street, Lutwyche, offering bicycle repairs and fabrication. In the 1940s, Tom Wallace Cycles relocated to its current landmark position on the corner of Lutwyche Road and Swinburne Street.

The current building was constructed on this site in the 1960s. Tom Wallace’s name became synonymous with cycling in Queensland, due in a large part to the Sunday morning rides the regularly organised. Many stories are also related to sightings of Tom Wallace Cycles’ signs painted in prominent positions along Queensland roads. The business today, as it was in Tom’s day, is at the forefront of cycling technology, products and service. The shop continues to evolve with the changing market, to ensure its products are the best available.
